Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) is a national honor society founded by the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE) for paralegal and legal studies.

With over 150 chapters in the United States, LEX recognizes those students who demonstrate superior academic performance in their paralegal and legal studies.聽 Each year, ANU will recognize those students selected for LEX induction at the annual graduation ceremony.

ELIGIBILITY OF STUDENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN LEX

1. Membership is limited to students in good standing at the institution who are enrolled in the paralegal programs.
2. A student may not be eligible for induction into LEX unless the student, at the time of induction, has聽completed not less than two-thirds of the program requirements聽to complete such program as determined by the institution.
3. The student to be inducted must demonstrate 鈥渟uperior academic performance鈥� which is evidenced聽by an聽辞惫别谤补濒濒听grade point average of at least 3.25, plus a grade point average聽in their paralegal classes聽of at least 3.50, to qualify for membership in LEX.

Membership

Students will receive a certificate and a LEX pin. A LEX graduation sash can be ordered for $35.00 per student.

Scholarships

Per AAfPE鈥檚 handbook: 鈥淓ach year AAfPE awards national scholarships in numbers and amounts to be determined by the AAfPE Board of Directors. Students from Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) honor society chartered academic institutions are eligible to apply for scholarships.聽 The deadline for submitting applications is to be determined by the National Coordinator from year to year.聽 The four representatives of the LEX Advisory Committee will judge the essay entries and the scholarship recipients will be forwarded by the Chair of the committee to management.聽 The scholarships are specifically awarded for the pursuit of the recipients鈥� law related education.鈥�
