麻豆社鈥檚 Paralegal studies online curriculum聽was designed with input from working professionals in the legal industry, focusing on relevant legal subjects. Students will:
- Understand state Administration and Elder law, sales and contracts, bankruptcy, immigration, and tort law. Students will also develop an understanding of how to use industry-standard legal research skills as well as skills in understanding legal terminology and drafting legal documents.
- Know the history and origin of the American legal system as well as its structure and source. Students will learn and use major software, tools, and resources within the field as well.
- Learn ethical responsibilities and guidelines regarding interacting with clients and their families, as well as an investigation of related problems in industry, civil society, and American community.
- Have the opportunity to earn their聽Lexis+庐聽Paralegal Certificateas part of the PLG207 Legal Research and Writing course.
- Take an optional 120-hour externship at a local business or organization.
