The Medical and Health Services Management bachelor’s degree program provides health care practitioners with the skills and competencies needed to function as managers and supervisors in health care settings. In order to take this degree program, students must have earned an associate degree in an allied health field from an accredited institution.

The Medical and Health Services Management Bachelor of Science degree provides health care practitioners holding an associate degree or certificate in an allied health discipline with the skills and competencies needed to function as managers and supervisors in health care settings. Classes in the medical and health services management program will provide:

• A foundation in management and leadership for roles like hospital administrator, clinical manager, health information manager, and more. Students will learn the skills they need to work in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, medical facilities, and outpatient care centers, among many different healthcare settings.
• Courses in ethics, law, health policy, and economics to ensure proper practice and compliance within state and federal laws. Some of the knowledge students will learn includes supply and demand, insurance and information markers, bioethics, and healthcare policy.
• Skills in quality improvement, project management, budgeting, and project completion to properly lead a team of healthcare professionals. Also, students will learn evidence-based practice to ensure quality care to make well-informed decisions for patients. And students will develop inter-professional healthcare collaboration through written and verbal communication skills, negotiation, collaborative practice, and conflict management.
