Your Learning Experience
Graduates of the Phlebotomy & ECG Program will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform essential healthcare procedures by:
- Mastering phlebotomy and ECG procedures by performing venipuncture, capillary puncture, and basic techniques while maintaining a sterile environment and following disposal protocols. You will also conduct electrocardiograms (ECGs), interpreting cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, and ensuring accurate test results.
- Ensuring legal and ethical compliance by preparing, documenting, and maintaining medical records with accuracy and professionalism. Additionally, you will apply legal and ethical principles in all patient interactions and healthcare procedures.
- Developing clinical and patient care skills through conducting patient interviews, taking vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures. You will be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for entry-level roles as an ECG technician or phlebotomist.
- Preparing for certification and career readiness. You will gain necessary training to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET) exams offered through the National Healthcareer Association as part of PEC198 Phlebotomy and ECG Review You’ll develop the competencies that align with industry standards to excel in these healthcare settings.
